Product Description

OXVA is back with an upgrade to their popular Xlim Pro, aptly named the Xlim Pro 2.

It aims to build on the success of its predecessor while introducing some notable improvements.

The Xlim Pro 2 is powered by a beefed-up 1300mAh built-in battery (a step up from the Pro’s 1000mAh capacity) and offers adjustable wattage from 5 to 30W.

One of the standout features is the new 0.56-inch HD color screen, which delivers crisp and clear information at a glance. The device also boasts an RGB light bar beneath the screen.

The device is compatible with OXVA’s latest V3 top-fill pods, which hold 2ml of e-liquid (TPD compliant). These pods come in four resistance options: 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, and 1.2Ω, covering everything from a tight MTL to a restricted DL vape.

OXVA has also included a side-adjustable airflow system, allowing you to fine-tune your draw to your liking. The Xlim Pro 2 supports USB-C charging with a 2A charge rate, promising quick battery top-ups.

The Xlim Pro 2 is available in 8 colors: Black Carbon, Silver Carbon, Dream Purple, Platinum Grey, Coral Pink, Green Python, Blue Python, and Brown Python.

Design & Build Quality

The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 takes the sleek design of its predecessor and cranks it up a notch.

At first glance, they look remarkably similar. But closer inspection and you notice the extra though that’s gone into the design.

Measuring 114.5 x 15 x 25mm and weighing just 67g, the Xlim Pro 2 is impressively compact and lightweight. It’s only 3mm longer than the original Pro, which is barely noticeable in hand or pocket. This slight increase houses the beefier 1300mAh battery, a worthy trade-off in my book.

The device’s body is crafted from zinc alloy, giving it a premium feel and robust build quality.

There are different build versions of the Xlim Pro 2. We received both for testing.

The Brown Python variant we have sports artificial leather or IML (In-Mould Labeling) panels, which add both style and grip. I’m not so keen on the color, but really do like those panels. Thankfully OXVA has others in this style.

Then, the Dream Purple version has an intricate and mesmerizing swirl pattern. It looks really cool when it catches the light. But it might be a bit too fancy for some and lacks the comfort of those panels.

The standout feature in the design department is undoubtedly the new 0.56-inch HD color screen. It’s a significant upgrade from the 0.69-inch OLED on the original Pro, offering crisper visuals and more vibrant colors.

Beneath the screen, OXVA has incorporated an RGB light bar, adding a touch of flair to the device. It’s a nice addition that gives the Xlim Pro 2 a more modern feel compared to its predecessor.

The fire button has been relocated to the side of the device, much like the original Pro. It’s clicky and responsive, though I still prefer the front-facing button of the Xlim V2 for ease of use.

On the opposite side, you’ll find the airflow adjustment slider. It’s well-implemented, with a good resistance that prevents accidental adjustments. The slider reveals three airflow holes, allowing for a range of draws from tight MTL to a restricted DL.

The USB-C charging port is placed on base of the device, to keep things clean. So no standing upright while charging.

The pod connection remains familiar, with strong magnets ensuring a secure fit.

Overall, the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 impresses with its build quality and attention to detail. The upgrades from the original Pro are subtle but meaningful, resulting in a pod vape that feels premium and well-thought-out.

Features

The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 comes packed with a host of features.

At the heart of the device is a built-in 1300mAh battery, a notable upgrade from the 1000mAh in the original Pro. This bump in capacity should translate to longer vaping sessions between charges, always a welcome improvement.

The wattage range remains the same, adjustable from 5 to 30W.

However, the Xlim Pro 2 introduces an automatic smart feature that selects the optimal wattage based on the pod resistance. Of course, you can still manually adjust if you prefer.

The 0.56-inch HD color screen is a significant upgrade. It displays all the essential information clearly: current wattage, battery status, pod resistance, and puff count. It’s one of the cleanest displays I’ve seen on a small pod.

The screen also supports two different animations when vaping. I think it’s a bit unnecessary, but some may like it.

There is also an RGB light bar beneath the screen. While this also adds a bit of flair, it’s also useful, acting as another battery gauge. Sadly there’s no option to switch it off, but you can customize the colors and patterns through the menu.

The Xlim Pro 2 supports both draw-activation and button-activation.

The airflow control is well-implemented, with a slider on the side revealing three airflow holes. This allows for fine-tuning your draw from a tight MTL to a restricted DL.

Operating the Xlim Pro 2 is straightforward:

  • Power On/Off = Press fire button 5 times
  • Adjust power = Press the button 3 times (until value flashes). Short press to increase the output.
  • Enter Menu system = Long press the button. Then, Short press to scroll through options.

The menu system allows you to reset the puff counter, lock the device, change LED colors, and view battery info.

USB-C charging is supported with a 2A charge rate, promising a full charge in about 60 minutes. A nice touch is the on-screen graphic showing remaining charge time, a feature I always appreciate.

Lastly, the device includes all the standard protections you’d expect: low voltage, overheating, overcharge, and an 8-second cut-off.

Pods & Coils

The Xlim Pro 2 utilizes the OXVA ‘s latest V3 top-fill pods, which are a slight evolution from the previous versions.

These pods have a 2ml e-liquid capacity (TPD compliant) and are constructed from durable PCTG material. They’re slightly tinted, but I found the juice level is still easily visible, which is good.

The most significant change comes in the filling method.

OXVA has moved the fill port to the side of the pod, positioning it higher up compared to the previous versions. While OXVA markets these as “top-fill” pods, they’re more accurately described as side-fill. The fill port is sealed with a rubber plug that’s easy to access and replace.

This new design addresses one of the minor issues with the older pods – potential leaking when refilling. From my testing, these new pods seem to be more leak-resistant, which is a welcome improvement.

The Xlim Pro 2 is compatible with four different pod resistances:

  • 0.4Ω (not included in the kit)
  • 0.6Ω (18-23W, included)
  • 0.8Ω (12-16W, included)
  • 1.2Ω (not included in the kit)

Both the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods included in the kit use A1 Kanthal mesh coils.

It’s worth noting that these new V3 pods are cross-compatible with previous Xlim devices (except the Xlim C). Great news for those already invested in the OXVA ecosystem.

In terms of performance, OXVA suggests the 0.6Ω pod for restricted direct-lung (RDL) vaping, while the 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω pods are more suited for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping.

During my testing, I experienced no issues with wicking or dry hits, even when using high VG e-liquids. The coils seem to keep up well, even during chain vaping sessions.

Overall, the new V3 pods for the Xlim Pro 2 seem to be a solid improvement over their predecessors.

Performance

The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 continues the legacy of its predecessors. It delivers an impressive vape experience for both MTL and restricted DL vapers.

I tested both the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods extensively, and I’m pleased to report they both perform excellently.

The 0.6Ω pod, rated for 18-23W, delivers a warm, flavorful vape with decent cloud production. It works well as a restricted DL vape with the airflow fully open, or as a loose MTL with the airflow slightly restricted. I found my sweet spot around 20-22W, which gave me a satisfying balance of flavor and warmth without any dry hits, even during chain vaping sessions.

The 0.8Ω pod, designed for MTL vaping at 12-16W, is where this device really shines in my opinion. At the recommended 16W, it produces a warm, intense flavor that really brings out the nuances in my e-liquids. The draw is smooth and satisfying, perfect for those who like MTL vaping.

Flavor production from both pods is top-notch. The mesh coils do an excellent job of od producing consistent flavor from the first puff to the last. I didn’t experience any muted flavors or dry hits during my testing, even when using max VG e-liquids.

The leak-resistant design of the new V3 pods seems to work as advertised. I didn’t encounter any leaking issues, even when leaving the device on its side overnight or in a warm car. This is a significant improvement over some earlier pod systems.

A quick note on the airflow of the Pro 2. The slider works well, is easy to adjust but still stays in place. It has a good range from tight MTL to restricted DL, all of which are super smooth across the board.

The auto-draw function is responsive and consistent, activating with even the gentlest inhale. It’s one of the better auto-draw systems I’ve used, rivaling the likes of the Xros and Caliburn series.

OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Review: Pro Performance, Leveled Up (21)

Battery life is impressive for such a compact device. With the 1300mAh battery, I easily got through a full day of moderate to heavy vaping with the 0.8Ω pod. Even with the more power-hungry 0.6Ω pod, I still managed most of a day before needing a recharge.

The 2A fast charging is a welcome feature, topping up the battery in about an hour.

Overall, the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 delivers exceptional performance across the board. Whether you’re a MTL enthusiast or prefer a restricted DL vape, this device has you covered with its versatile airflow and excellent pod options.

Pros

  • Sleek, compact design with premium build quality
  • Impressive 1300mAh battery capacity for its size
  • Vibrant 0.56″ HD color screen
  • Adjustable wattage up to 30W
  • Versatile airflow control (tight MTL to restricted DL)
  • Excellent flavor production from both included pods
  • Responsive auto-draw and button activation options
  • New leak-resistant V3 pod design
  • Cross-compatible pods with other Xlim devices (except Xlim C)
  • Fast USB-C charging (2A)
  • Customizable RGB light effects
  • Smooth draw across all airflow settings

Cons

  • RGB light bar can’t be turned off completely
  • Side-mounted fire button may take some getting used to
  • Marketing of “top-fill” pods is a bit misleading (more accurately side-fill)

Verdict

The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 takes everything that made the original Pro great and slides it up a notch.

With its sleek design, improved battery life, and vibrant HD screen, it’s a clear evolution of the Xlim series.

The star of the show remains the excellent pod performance. Both the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods deliver outstanding flavor and a smooth vaping experience. The new leak-resistant design thankfully works well.

The build quality of the Pro 2 is exceptional. The new screen, battery life, and versatile airflow are all significant strengths.

While the RGB light bar and side-mounted fire button might not be to everyone’s taste, they don’t detract from the device’s overall quality.

For OXVA fans, the Xlim Pro 2 is a worthy upgrade, especially if you’re after longer battery life and a better screen.

For those new to the brand, it’s an excellent pod vape that rivals that of Uwell or Vaporesso. Not only is it an excellent entry point into premium pod vapes, but it’s also one of the best currently available.

The Xlim Pro 2 is easily OXVA’s best to date. And I’ve more than enjoyed my time using it. Highly recommended.
