The body of Esteliano Madureira, 43, had more than 10 stab wounds and was wrapped in a tarp in the southeastern city of São Paulo on Wednesday.

Da Silva had a fractured vertebrae in her neck and burn marks, authorities with knowledge of the investigation told Brazilian news outlet G1.
A plastic bag was found near her body, which they believe the killer may have used to strangled da Silva, who died from asphyxiation. An autopsy, which will show da Silva's cause of death, is pending.
